Where do the property ratings come from?
The lot itself has quite good potential—if you can tolerate the proximity to the road (which is, however, well screened by trees), it offers the chance to be close to civilization (with shopping even within walking distance) while still being out in nature. However, better service from the owner would be appreciated, at least for the price charged. The grass hadn’t been mowed as shown in the photo, and it really should have been. When I asked for help with the “outdoor” shower—the hoses wouldn’t connect—the owner didn’t respond. The wooden shelter could be great, but it needs to be cleaned up and the roof repaired—it leaks during heavy rain. Even a self-catering campsite requires some effort; if the owner accepts this and takes better care of the place, I can recommend it. Without that, be prepared for unnecessary compromises.
The location is basically nice and flat. However, the very busy road just a few meters from the property might be a problem for some people, as the traffic noise is quite loud, especially during the day. We had no trouble driving our van onto the property, but larger vehicles would have difficulty turning onto the lot.

It seems the owner relies entirely on visitors to clean up after themselves. Since we were probably the first visitors of the year, the place was very dirty, and wasps had even built a nest in the pergola. This is only our second time camping, and unfortunately we already have to write a bad review.We chose this campsite because it was advertised as having a shower—albeit a makeshift one—but after our all-day hike up Lysá hora, that would have been enough for us. We could have lived with the fact that the grass on the property hadn’t been mowed at all, but we really needed that water.When I called the owner and told him about it, he referred me to the well and said he couldn’t help us with it, so we packed up and drove the two hours back home instead.Considering that the season is just starting, it’s a shame the property isn’t better maintained; otherwise, it would be a nice place.

Right next to the property is a dog kennel (the dog doesn’t belong to the property owner), and the dog went a little crazy when it first saw us, but after a while it got used to us and stopped barking, so don’t worry—it won’t be going crazy all night long...
