Welcome to Maringotka U Potoka

There are places where you simply stay.

And then there are places from which you take memories home.

Maringotka U Potoka stands on a vast meadow at the edge of a forest, mostly surrounded by a stream. You won’t hear any traffic or city noise around you. Just the murmur of water, birdsong, the wind in the treetops, and the crackling of a fire in the evening.

For a few days, you can slow down, put your phone away, and remind yourself just how pleasantly simple life can be.

A day with no rush

In the morning, birdsong wakes you up instead of an alarm clock.

You’ll pump water directly into the kitchen sink using a foot pump, prepare breakfast on a gas stove, and enjoy your first cup of coffee while looking out over the meadow and the forest.

During the day, you can go on a hike, play badminton or volleyball, read under the trees, watch the kids explore the surrounding nature, or simply do absolutely nothing.

And that, often, is the greatest luxury of all.

When it gets warm, you can cool off in a natural pool in the nearby stream. After a hike, an afternoon of games, or a hot summer day, the cold water is more refreshing than any swimming pool.

Evenings Belong to the Fire

When the sun begins to set, it’s time to build a fire.

There are sausage skewers, a grill grate, and a large cauldron on a metal tripod available. It’s entirely up to you whether you roast sausages, grill dinner, or cook a hearty pot of goulash. And if you’re lucky enough to find mushrooms, you can even make goulash with fresh porcini mushrooms picked in the surrounding forests.

Then all that’s left is to sit by the fire, listen to the murmur of the stream, and watch as the stars gradually light up above your head.

On warm summer evenings, you might even be lucky enough to see fireflies appearing over the meadow like tiny natural lights. It’s a magical moment that can’t be captured in a photo or described in words—you simply have to experience it.

And if you like to sing, you might even break out a guitar. One is ready and waiting right in the trailer, and you’re welcome to bring your own instrument as well. We’d be delighted if the evening’s tranquility were accompanied by songs by the fire, rather than loud music from speakers. After all, the sounds of nature belong here best.

Comfort in the Heart of Nature

Although the trailer is off the grid, you’ll find everything you need for a relaxing stay.

There’s a fully equipped kitchenette with a gas stove, dishes, pots, pans, plates, mugs, and cutlery. Water is provided in a canister and, thanks to a foot pump, flows conveniently right into the sink.

After dark, the provided lighting will serve you well, so going about your daily routine is no problem.

A major advantage is the insect screens on all windows and doors. This allows you to air out the trailer, fall asleep to the sounds of nature, and enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep free of mosquitoes.

The stay also includes a traditional outhouse. This isn’t a hotel—it’s a return to a simple life in nature.

It’s good to know that there’s no electricity in the trailer. If you need to be constantly online or charge several devices a day, this won’t be the ideal place for you. But if you want to take a break from technology, you might find that you don’t miss it at all.

What to Bring

Sheets and pillows are provided on the beds. Please bring your own sleeping bag or comforter—whatever you sleep best in.

If you plan to grill, we recommend packing aluminum foil or aluminum grill pans.

And definitely don’t forget a good book. Maybe you’ll finally have time to read it.

The trailer offers four full-size beds and a pull-out couch suitable for two slimmer people. The total capacity is up to six guests.
