In early April 2024, a small stove was installed in the log cabin. The cold will no longer bother you at night and you can use the log cabin all year round. The wood is prepared in the woodshed by the shower. ATTENTION! After the experience of visitors, it is difficult to heat the cabin to a comfortable temperature when the outside temperature is below zero. In this case we recommend a warm sleeping bag:-)
Lighting is solved by LED technology powered by a large capacity battery.
In the log cabin you will find basic equipment (cups, glasses, plates, cutlery..) and equipment for roasting and small barbecues.
Number of beds: 2x (bed length 180 cm). Extra bed is possible (i.e. you can sleep on your own mattress on the floor), but the space in the hut is rather limited.
In the old hut next to the log cabin you can lock bicycles or other bulky things.
For your convenience, we have installed a covered shower fed by 400 litres of sun-heated water in a black barrel. The shower stands on the adjacent property about 30 meters from the log cabin and is shared with our second Bezkempu site. We refill the water about twice a week, but even then we have to be economical with it.
The shop is far away, so we have set up a self-service meadow bar with beer and nealk for our visitors right in the hut.
We've also prepared a nature trail that will take you through the beauty of the area from a naturalist and historian's perspective. You'll also learn details about the move and renovation of our fruit drying facility and the place names and history of the surrounding area.
Visitors are advised to install offline maps on their mobile phones. There is no signal far and wide, maps on your mobile will help you not only when hiking.

- There is no 220 V electricity in the log cabin. Recharging batteries of small appliances from the 220 V network is possible by arrangement at the nearby cottage No. 351, about 300 meters away. A map with the exact connection point located in a lockable wooden hollowed-out log is on a sign on the property.

- Since 2022, a shower powered by 400 litres of solar heated water has been in operation during the summer months! The water is scarce and usually cold, but it is enough for quick hygiene. Please save water.

The driveway is regularly maintained, however, parking for the car is dependent on your own manual power during heavy snowfall - shovel at the ready.

From the land is easily accessible cycling route 6270 (Ptáčnice-Tanečnice) on the ridge of the Vsetín Hills - suitable for mountain bikes. On the asphalt, little frequented road at a distance of about 5 km lies the Bečva cycle path.

hiking
The starting point of marked hiking trails in the centre of Halenkov (5 km). From the land available ridge of the Vsetín Hills, in a pleasant walking distance, for example, the cottage Vsacky Cáb (1.5 h walk) or Soláň hill (4 h walk). Visitors can enjoy a map with an approximately 45-minute circular walk around the area with nice views and unspoilt nature.
Other activities
Mushroom picking, there is a historic fruit drying room on the property (open in the autumn months). Attention, there is no mobile phone signal on the property. Wi-Fi at the landlords cottage (approx. 200 m). In the immediate surroundings, rich fauna and flora, preserved and varied living Wallachian cultural landscape (juniper pastures, hemlock forests, butterfly meadows). The landlords farm traditionally on the surrounding land (sheep grazing, hay drying, possibility of collecting home-grown eggs, seasonal home-grown rabbit or lamb/skip meat, dried fruit). In autumn, you can take part in traditional fruit drying in a timbered fruit drying room over 150 years old.
Visitors to the shelter share the use of a dry toilet and shower with visitors to the accommodation at the Wallachian drying plant (in preparation, to be ready in July). Beds are available without blankets and sheets - these can be ordered for CZK 100 per bed.

A really beautiful place, with a great genius loci. The chamber is beautiful, clean, the stove is powerful, we did not suffer from the cold, nor did our kids. Cooking on the fire is amazing fun, you can find everything you need on site. The surroundings are beautiful, wild, we managed with the boys (6 and 8) a sightseeing trip to Vsacky Cab and the next day the hills, they were everywhere. The toilet is quite a distance away but that was a small thing in the context of all the positives. We would love to go back!
The equipment of the log cabin was amply sufficient, the various pieces of crockery were also great. I also took advantage of the meadow bar. I will be happy to come again, thank you 🥰
A cosy little chamber in the beautiful countryside. In the adjacent cottage basic equipment for small cooking, for a longer stay I recommend your own dishes. Ideal to cook on the fire. There was plenty of prepared firewood, but we also went into the woods for branches. Shower was cooler,but great. Dry toilet a short walk away. Would recommend to anyone looking for beautiful countryside and peace and quiet with a sitting by the fire.
Beautiful place, quiet, far from civilization. Beautiful chamber, comfortable beds ...possibility to warm up in the stove.
A nice little place away from civilization. 😃 Equipment of the cottage quite sufficient - Two beds, stove, table and chairs. 😁 Outside there is a place for a campfire, over which you can cook in a kettle on a tripod. We enjoyed our holiday and are happy. The only minor minus is the dry toilet, which is really a bit far from the cabin and is shared with the campsite, as is the shower.
